Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Equipment

  • 1 mixing bowl
  • 1 baking sheet
  • 1 roll of parchment paper

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light-brown sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Remove from oven and let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
